Delhi Metro Timing on 22 February 2026
Delhi Metro to Run Early on February 22 for New Delhi Marathon 2026
Delhi Metro Timing: If you are planning to travel early on Sunday, February 22, 2026, here is an important update for you.
To facilitate smooth travel arrangements for participants and spectators attending the New Delhi Marathon 2026, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has decided to start metro services much earlier than usual on select lines.
Normally, Delhi Metro services on Sundays begin around 6:00 AM on several corridors.
However, on marathon day, metro trains will start operations as early as 3:30 AM on selected routes.
This special arrangement aims to ensure that thousands of runners reach the event venue — Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, where the marathon is scheduled to begin around 6:00 AM — without facing any last-minute inconvenience.

Metro Services to Begin at 3:30 AM on These Lines
On Sunday, February 22, early metro train services will be available from terminal stations of the following lines:
- Yellow Line – Samaypur Badli to Millennium City Centre Gurugram
- Blue Line – Dwarka Sector-21 to Noida Electronic City / Vaishali
- Violet Line – Kashmere Gate to Raja Nahar Singh (Ballabhgarh)
These routes connect key parts of Delhi, Noida, Gurugram and Faridabad — helping marathon participants from NCR reach the stadium conveniently.
Train Frequency on Marathon Day
DMRC will operate trains on these selected metro corridors at a frequency of:
- Every 30 minutes from 3:30 AM to 6:00 AM
After 6:00 AM, metro services on all lines will resume operations as per the regular Sunday timetable.
Similar early-morning operational plans have been implemented during previous large-scale public events to manage crowd movement and reduce traffic congestion.
Why Metro Services Are Starting Early
The New Delhi Marathon is expected to witness participation from over 30,000 runners across categories including:
- Full Marathon (42K)
- Half Marathon (21K)
- 10K Run
- 5K Fun Run
Given the early start time of the race and road restrictions in central Delhi, metro connectivity remains the fastest and most reliable mode of transport for participants and spectators.
Advisory for Commuters
- Passengers travelling early on February 22 are advised to check the first train timing from their nearest metro station.
- Use metro services between 3:30 AM and 6:00 AM to avoid road closures near the marathon route.
- Normal metro operations will continue after 6:00 AM on all corridors.
